Dr. Murphy is a specialist in hip and knee replacement and reconstruction, employing the most current treatments to alleviate pain and restore his patients to an active lifestyle.

Dr. Murphy completed his fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at the world-renowned Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University in Chicago. During his fellowship, Dr. Murphy mastered the most current techniques in minimally invasive hip- and knee-replacement surgery, quadriceps sparing techniques for knee replacement, partial-knee replacement, minimally invasive anterior hip replacement, complex revision procedures for hip and knee replacement and multimodal pain management strategies that promote a faster recovery.

Graduating with honors from Northern Kentucky University in 2003, Dr. Murphy also lettered in men’s basketball all four years. He attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine, finishing his degree in 2008. Dr. Murphy went on to complete his orthopaedic residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2013. In his final year, he was selected as the Administrative Chief Resident for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. During his tenure, Dr. Murphy published multiple articles in peer reviewed orthopaedic journals and has presented his research regionally and nationally.

Dr. Murphy is licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky with operating credentials at The Christ Hospital, Bethesda North Hospital, Jewish Hospital and Trihealth Evendale Surgery Center. He sees patients at the Montgomery, Fairfield, Green Township and Ft. Wright offices of Reconstructive.

Joshua and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children. Elizabeth is a Cincinnati native and Oak Hills High School Athletics Hall Fame Member for tennis. In his free time, Joshua enjoys being with family and friends, is dedicated to fitness and daily exercise and participates in a variety of outdoor activities. He recently finished the Detroit Half Marathon and twice completed the YMCA Sprint Triathlon in Wilmington Beach, NC.
